Hello There! I'm Awnya Farrin...

I've been writing stories for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until my late thirties that I seriously considered writing a novel. What began as an idea—using names and mythological creatures from my ancestry in a novella—quickly evolved into a series of novels (many of which are still in their skeleton draft form) set in the world of Nalavaris.

When I'm not wrangling my characters and trying to keep them on track, I'm usually immersed in research for my latest hyperfixation, which cycles through paleontology, genealogy, archaeology, and the history of the English monarchy. I'd call myself a "gamer," but my main focus is ARK, where my goal is to tame every dinosaur and make them my friend. I often also dive into Crusader Kings and Assassin's Creed (because history) and Baldur's Gate 3.

My partner and I live on a fixer-upper farmstead in the hills of rural California, sharing our space with a menagerie of animals: several dogs, a flock of chickens, some semi-feral barn cats, a sulcata tortoise, and a pet jumping spider.
